Session vs. Conversation Window

🔹 Session (Analytics view)

  • A block of activity cut off by inactivity.

  • On web: often 30 minutes without action = new session.

🔹 Conversation Window (Channel rule)

  • A fixed time frame set by the channel (e.g., 24 hours on WhatsApp).

  • Defines how long you can reply freely and how interactions are counted.

In simple terms:

  • Session = based on inactivity (e.g., 30 min).

  • Window = based on a channel rule (e.g., 24h).

  • You can have multiple sessions inside one window, or one window spanning several sessions, depending on behaviour.
